Description
FR-413 is a high molecular diphenyl sulfone sulfonate that is commonly used to make polycarbonate flame retardant.
FR-413 offers several advantages. It has little impact on the transparency, physical, and mechanical properties of the material, and has excellent thermal stability. Additionally, it does not corrode mold equipment and is environmentally friendly. It is also free of bromine, chlorine, and phosphorus.
Typical Properties
Physical Properties | Unit | Target Value |
Appearance | White Powder | |
Volatile Content | % | 1 |
Decomposition Temperature | ℃ | 400 |
Usage
Ø In polycarbonate (PC):
Typically, a dose of 0.2% to 0.5% of FR-413 is enough for compounds to achieve the UL 94 V-0 classification at a thickness of 1.6mm, with the compounds’ transmittance being greater than 90%. FR-413 also has some synergistic effects with silicon flame retardants and organic phosphate flame retardants.
Attention
Once opened, the product can easily absorb moisture, so it should be stored in a dry place. A dispersant may also need to be added during use as a pretreatment to ensure even dispersion.
Packaging & Storage
20 kg per package.
The product must be stored in a cool, dry place to avoid moisture.
