Description
Unlike conventional composite flame retardants on the market that are filled with bromine, phosphorus, and nitrogen, FR-300 does not use any low-cost fillers, which gives it several advantages:
FR-300 is a flame retardant that has several advantages over conventional composite flame retardants on the market. It has high flame retardant efficiency, does not precipitate, is environmentally friendly, and requires a low dose. Additionally, it has low bromine content and good adaptability in the recycling system when used in high-filling PP homopolymer material. FR-300 is also more cost-effective than the commonly used bromine-antimony flame retardant system, as it does not require the addition of antimony trioxide. With a low dose of 0.5% to 2% FR-300, the compounds comply with RoHS, REACH, PAHS and other regulatory requirements.
Typical Properties
Physical Properties | Unit | Target Value |
Appearance | White Powder | |
Water/Moisture | % | 0.2 |
Decomposition Temperature | ℃ | 280 |
Usage
Ø In unfilled polypropylene (PP) homopolymer:
To achieve the UL 94 V-2 classification for electrical compounds with thicknesses ranging from 0.8mm to 3.2mm, a dose of 0.5% FR-300 is usually enough. Additionally, the compounds can pass the 960°C Glow Wire Flammability Index (GWFI) test.
Ø In 30% filled polypropylene (PP) homopolymer systems (E.g. talc, mica powder):
A dose of 2.5% to 3% FR-300 is typically sufficient for electrical compounds with thicknesses ranging from 0.8mm to 3.2mm to achieve the UL 94 V-2 classification.
Ø To meet the EU RoHS, REACH, PAHS and other regulatory requirements:
When the dosage of FR-300 is less than 2%, the modified PP material can meet halogen-free requirements, with a bromine content of less than 900PPM. Additionally, there is no precipitation when the flame retardant is used.
Packaging & Storage
Packaged in woven bags with plastic liner. 25 kg per package.
The product is transported as non-toxic and non-hazardous goods.
The product must be kept dry and away from moisture.
