FR-50MS is a halogen-free flame retardant that is environmentally friendly, containing phosphorus and nitrogen as its main components. Unlike the ammonium polyphosphate (APP) intumescent flame retardant, FR-50MS offers higher thermal stability, a higher decomposition temperature, and better color stability. It is also easier to process in PP and PE applications.

When used in electrical compounds, FR-50MS can achieve a UL 94 V-0 rating at a thickness of 0.75mm and can pass the UL746C water immersion test, which involves submerging the material for seven days at 70°C. Additionally, it can pass the GWIT 750°C and GWFI 960°C tests. Importantly, FR-50MS is not restricted by the RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC) set by the European Union.
During the extrusion and pelletizing process, it is recommended to use a weak shear screw combination.
It is crucial to maintain extrusion and injection temperatures below 230℃ to ensure optimal performance.
It is worth noting that fillers like carbon black and calcium carbonate can have a negative impact on flame retardancy. Therefore, the ratio of flame retardant to filler should be adjusted based on specific requirements.
Avoid Water/moisture.
