Description
FR-ADP04 is a large-size particle, surface-activated organic aluminum phosphinate-based flame retardant. It is mainly used in engineering plastics PBT, PET (including glass fibre reinforced and non-reinforced), and polyamide.
The unique particle size process helps reduce the decomposition in flame retardant caused by shear during the polymer granulation, thus maintaining the material properties and keeping the color of the polymer stable.
FR-ADP04 is designed for PBT and PET. FR-ADP04 is suitable for both glass fibre reinforced and unreinforeced grades. The flame-retardant PBT and flame-retardant PET compounds exhibit excellent physical and electrical properties.
Advantages
Large-particle size.
High hydrophobicity.
High temperature resistance.
Typical Properties
Physical Properties | Unit | Target Value |
Phosphorus Content | % (w/w) | 23.5 |
Density | g/cm3 | 1.35 |
Bulk Density | g/cm3 | 550 |
Water/Moisture | % (w/w) | 0.2 |
Decomposition Temperature (at 2% weight loss) | ℃ | 360 |
Average Particle Size (D50) | μm | 25 |
Usage
Ø In glass fibre reinforced PBT:
For the compounds to obtain the UL 94 V-0 classification at 1.6 mm thickness, a dose of 10% (by weight) FR-ADP04 combined with 5% nitrogen-based flame retardant is typically sufficient. The dosage of the flame retardant may vary, subject to the formula and processing conditions.
Ø In glass fibre reinforced PA6 and other systems:
For the compounds to obtain the UL 94 V-0 classification at 0.8 mm thickness, a dose of 12% FR-ADP04 combined with 6% nitrogen-based flame retardant is typically sufficient.
Packaging & Storage
Packaged in a paper-plastic composite bag and lined with a plastic bag. 25 kg per package.
The product must be sealed, kept dry, dust-free, and cool.
