Description
FR-AP1001 is a flame retardant that has been coated with melamine and modified with ammonium polyphosphate. Unlike traditional polyphosphoric amides, FR-AP1001 has been treated to resist high temperatures and prevent decomposition during processing, which could negatively affect the material’s properties.
FR-AP1001 offers several advantages over conventional ammonium polyphosphate. It has a higher polymerization degree, which results in an increased degree of carbonization. Additionally, it has a higher temperature resistance and excellent compatibility with materials, meaning it has little effect on their physical properties. These features make FR-AP1001 a superior choice for flame retardancy.
Typical Properties
Physical Properties | Unit | Target Value |
Appearance | White Powder | |
Water/Moisture | % | 0.3 |
Phosphorus Content | % | 30 |
pH Value | 7.0 | |
Decomposition Temperature | ℃ | 280 |
Usage
Ø In polypropylene (PP) systems:
To achieve the UL 94 V-0 classification for electrical compounds at a thickness of 1.6mm, a dose of 26% to 28% is typically sufficient when combined with triazine-based char-forming agents.
Ø In epoxy potting compound/adhesive, acrylic coatings, PP, epoxy resin, etc.:
FR-AP1001 works synergistically with melamine cyanurate (MCA), triazine-based charring agents, and hypophosphite to enhance its effectiveness.
Packaging & Storage
Packaged in a paper-plastic composite bag with a plastic liner. 25 kg per package.
The product must be sealed, kept dry, dust-free, and cool.
