Description
FB-PP509H is a high-efficiency flame retardant masterbatch developed to maintain effectiveness at high temperatures in the new energy vehicle field.
FB-PP509H is an environmentally and eco-friendly flame retardant for polypropylene (PP) that retains its flame retardancy even after being torrefied at 90℃. A lower dose of FB-PP509H would be sufficient compared to traditional PP flame retardants and it is more cost-effective than the commonly used bromine-antimony flame retardant system since it doesn't require the addition of antimony trioxide. Additionally, FB-PP509H complies with regulatory requirements such as RoHS, REACH, and PAHS.
Typical Properties
Physical Properties | Unit | Target Value |
Appearance | White Granules | |
Water/Moisture | % | 0.2 |
Flame Retardant Content | % | 50 |
Decomposition Temperature | ℃ | 280 |
Usage
FB-PP509H is suitable for use in both copolymer and homopolymer PP, as well as in PP injection products and regular PP corrugated pipes. It can also be used in PP filler systems that contain talc or barium sulfate. However, it is not compatible with calcium carbonate filling systems.
Ø In PP corrugated pipes:
Typically, adding 6% to 8% of FB-PP509H to PP corrugated pipes is enough to make them self-extinguish. Even after being torrefied at 90℃ for 1000 hours, the flame retardancy of the PP corrugated pipes remains qualified. Additionally, there is minimal mold deposit generation during simultaneous and continuous injection.
Ø In PP homopolymer:
Adding 2% to 3% of FB-PP509H to PP homopolymer compounds is typically enough to achieve a UL 94 V-2 classification for thicknesses ranging from 0.8 to 3.2mm. This also allows the compounds to pass the GWFI 960℃ test and meet the non-combustion requirement of GWIT 775℃ for the glow wire.
Ø In PP copolymer:
Adding 5% to 7% of FB-PP509H to PP copolymer compounds is typically enough to achieve a UL 94 V-2 classification for thicknesses ranging from 0.8 to 3.2mm. This also allows the compounds to pass the GWFI 960℃ test and meet the non-combustion requirement of GWIT 775℃ for the glow wire.
Packaging & Storage
Packaged in woven bags with a plastic liner. 25 kg per package.
The product is transported as non-toxic and non-hazardous goods.
The product must be kept dry and away from moisture.
