Description
FR-500 is a new type of phosphorus, nitrogen and bromine compound system fire retardant.
Advantages
No precipitation.
Environmental-friendly.
A low required amount.
With low bromine Content.
A lower cost than the current commonly used bromine-antimony flame retardant system, since it is unnecessary to add antimony trioxide.
Comply with RoHS, REACH, PAHS and other regulatory requirements.
Typical Properties
Physical Properties | Unit | Target Value |
Appearance | White Powder | |
Water/Moisture | % | 0.2 |
Decomposition Temperature | ℃ | 270 |
Usage
FR-500 can be utilized in both copolymer and homopolymer PP. Additionally, it can be applied to PP systems filled with substances such as talc or barium sulfate. However, it is not suitable to use in calcium carbonate filling systems.
Ø In polypropylene (PP) copolymer:
For the electrical compounds to obtain the UL 94 V-2 classification from 0.8mm to 3.2mm thicknesses, a dose of 2% to 5% FR-500 is typically sufficient. The glow wire is non-flammable at 750°C GWFI. And the 960°C Glow Wire Flammability Index (GWFI) test can also be passed.
Ø Just for clear PP.
Ø To meet the RoHS, REACH, PAHS and other regulatory requirements:
When the dosage is 1% to 5%, the modified PP material can meet the halogen-free requirements, and the bromine Content is less than 900PPM. There is no precipitation when the flame retardant is in use.
Application
FR-500 can be used in heater housing, heater impeller, air drum, surge protector, coil skeleton, polypropylene propylene spinning, etc.
Packaging & Storage
Packaged in woven bags with plastic liner. 25 kg per package.
The product is transported as non-toxic and non-hazardous goods.
The product must be sealed, kept dry, dust-free, and cool.
