Description
FR-50MS is an environmentally friendly halogen-free flame retardant with phosphorus and nitrogen as the main elements. FR-50MS is not a part of the ammonium polyphosphate (APP) intumescent flame retardant, so it has higher thermal stability, higher decomposition temperature, better color stability, and the processing conditions can be met more easily than the ammonium polyphosphate flame retardant system in PP and PE.
Typical Properties
Physical Properties | Unit | Target Value |
Appearance | White Powder | |
Water/Moisture | % | 0.2 |
Decomposition Temperature | ℃ | 280 |
Usage
Resin Type
| PE | PP |
Dosage (wt%) | 25~28 | 19~22 |
UL 94 classification | V-0 (at 1.6mm thickness) | V-0 (at 1.6mm thickness) |
Ø In PE and PP:
The electrical compounds are able to obtain the UL 94 V-0 classification at 0.75mm thickness, and pass the UL746C water immersion test, which is performed for seven days at 70°C. The GWIT 750°C and GWFI 960°C tests can also be passed. It is not subject to the limitation in The Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment, RoHS (2002/95/EC), that the European Union announced.
Cautions
1. Choose a weak shear screw combination in the extrusion and pelletizing process.
2. Extrusion and injection temperature should be strictly controlled below 230℃.
3. Fillers such as carbon black and calcium carbonate negatively affect flame retardancy. The flame retardant to filler ratio should be adjusted according to the specific requirements.
4. Avoid moisture.
Packaging & Storage
Packaged in 25 kg bags.
The product must be sealed, kept dry, dust-free, and cool.
