Description
FR-ADP04 is a surface-activated organic aluminum phosphinate-based flame retardant that is used in engineering plastics such as PBT, PET, and polyamide. Its unique particle size process helps maintain the material properties and color stability of the polymer. It is designed for PBT and PET, and is suitable for both glass fibre reinforced and unreinforced grades. The flame-retardant PBT and PET compounds have excellent physical and electrical properties.
Advantages
FR-ADP04 has several advantages as a flame retardant. Its large particle size helps reduce decomposition during polymer granulation, while its high hydrophobicity and temperature resistance ensure stability in the material.
Typical Properties
Physical Properties | Unit | Target Value |
Phosphorus Content | % (w/w) | 23-24 |
Density | g/cm3 | 1.35 |
Bulk Density | g/cm3 | 550 |
Water/Moisture | % (w/w) | 0.2 |
Decomposition Temperature (at 2% weight loss) | ℃ | 360 |
Average Particle Size (D50) | μm | 25 |
Usage
Ø In glass fibre reinforced PBT:
To achieve the UL 94 V-0 classification at a thickness of 1.6 mm, a typical dose of 10% FR-ADP04 combined with 5% nitrogen-based flame retardant is sufficient. However, the dosage may vary depending on the formula and processing conditions.
Ø In glass fibre reinforced PA6 and other systems:
To achieve the UL 94 V-0 classification at a thickness of 0.8 mm, a typical dose of 12% FR-ADP04 combined with 6% nitrogen-based flame retardant is sufficient.
Packaging & Storage
Packaged in a paper-plastic composite bag and lined with a plastic bag. 25 kg per package.
The product must be sealed, kept dry, dust-free, and cool.
