Description
FR-ADP03 is a large-size particle, organic aluminum phosphinate-based flame retardant. It is mainly used in PA, PBT, PET (including glass fibre reinforced and non-reinforced), and other engineering plastics.
The unique particle size process helps reduce the decomposition in flame retardant caused by shear during the polymer granulation, thus maintaining the material properties and keeping the color of the polymer stable.
FR-ADP03 is designed for polyamide and high-temperature polyamide. The flame-retardant glass fibre reinforced polyamide and high-temperature polyamide compounds exhibit excellent physical and electrical properties. There is a synergistic effect when FR-ADP03 and nitrogen-based flame retardants work together.
Advantages
Large particle size.
High hydrophobicity.
High temperature resistance.
No migration.
Typical Properties
Physical Properties | Unit | Target Value |
Phosphorus Content | % (w/w) | 23-24 |
Density | g/cm3 | 1.35 |
Bulk Density | g/cm3 | 600 |
Water/Moisture | % (w/w) | 0.2 |
Decomposition Temperature (at 2% weight loss) | ℃ | 360 |
Average Particle Size (D50) | μm | 30 |
Usage
Ø In high-temperature polyamides:
For the compounds to obtain the UL 94 V-0 classification at 1.6 and 0.8 mm thicknesses, a dose of 15% to 16% FR-ADP03 is typically sufficient.
Ø In glass fibre reinforced PA6 and PA66:
For the compounds to obtain the UL 94 V-0 classification at 0.8 mm thickness, a dose of 12% FR-ADP03 combined with 6% nitrogen-based flame retardant is typically sufficient.
Ø In glass fibre reinforced PBT:
For the compounds to obtain the UL 94 V-0 classification at 1.6 mm thickness, a dose of 10% FR-ADP03 combined with 5% nitrogen-based flame retardant is typically sufficient. The dosage of the flame retardant may vary, subject to the formula and processing conditions.
Packaging & Storage
Packaged in a paper-plastic composite bag and lined with a plastic bag. 25 kg per package.
The product must be sealed, kept dry, dust-free, and cool.
